Reactivation
Work the list you already paid for
The cheapest pipeline most businesses have is the one sitting in their CRM doing nothing. It is also the one nobody has time to work, which is exactly what makes it an automation problem.
Quick answer
What is database reactivation?
Database reactivation is contacting people already in your CRM who have gone dormant — old enquiries that never converted, past customers who have not returned, quotes that were never followed up. Because acquisition costs were already paid, conversion at even a low rate is typically the cheapest revenue available.
The problem
What this actually fixes
Thousands of old enquiries sit in the CRM and nobody has contacted them in years.
Past customers stopped buying and nobody noticed or asked why.
Quotes were issued, followed up once, and written off.
Working the list manually would take weeks nobody has.
Previous reactivation attempts were generic and performed badly.
Nobody knows which dormant segments are worth contacting at all.
Scope
What's included
Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need. This is the full deliverable list.
Deliverable 01
Database segmentation
Dormant contacts grouped by why they went quiet and how long ago, because a quote from last month and an enquiry from 2022 need different approaches.
Deliverable 02
Consent review
Which contacts you may lawfully contact and on what basis. On old data this is a real constraint rather than a formality.
Deliverable 03
Multi-channel outreach
SMS, email and voice sequenced by segment value, with cheaper channels first.
Deliverable 04
AI calling
Voice agents working the list at a volume no team could, which is what makes large-scale reactivation viable at all.
Deliverable 05
Contextual messaging
Outreach referencing what they originally enquired about, which performs substantially better than a generic offer.
Deliverable 06
Suppression and hygiene
Non-responders suppressed and invalid records cleaned, protecting deliverability for everyone else.
How it works
From first call to running system
- Step
Audit the database
How many dormant contacts, from where, how old, and how many you may lawfully contact.
- Step
Segment and prioritise
Which groups justify a call versus a message versus nothing at all.
- Step
Build and pilot
Sequences built, tested on one segment, reviewed before scaling.
- Step
Scale and suppress
Widened across segments, with non-responders removed rather than repeatedly contacted.
Check consent before you check the numbers
Reactivation is the most commercially attractive automation on this site and the one with the most legal exposure, because the data is old.
Consent obtained three years ago may not be valid now. In Canada, implied consent expires by statute. In the UK, the soft opt-in does not cover prospects who merely enquired. In the UAE, consent must be explicit and documented and cannot be inferred from a past relationship.
None of that makes reactivation a bad idea. It means the first step is auditing what you can lawfully use, not calculating what the list might be worth.
Do it in that order. The numbers are still good on the subset you can legitimately contact.

Questions
AI Re-Engagement — common questions
Can we legally contact old records?
It depends on the consent basis and how old it is, and this genuinely varies by market — Canada's CASL expires implied consent after a defined period, the UK's soft opt-in is narrower than most assume, and the UAE requires explicit documented consent. Auditing what you may lawfully use is the first step, not an afterthought.
How old is too old?
Commercially, older contacts convert worse but not to zero — circumstances change and people who were not ready then may be now. Legally, age matters more: consent obtained years ago may no longer be valid depending on jurisdiction. The legal question usually binds before the commercial one.
Why does AI calling change this?
Because calling several thousand dormant contacts was never viable manually — the labour cost exceeded the expected return. An agent working the list changes the arithmetic, which makes a low conversion rate on a large list worth pursuing.
What conversion rate is realistic?
Lower than on fresh enquiries, and we will not quote you a figure because it varies enormously by industry, list age and what the original relationship was. The relevant point is that acquisition cost is already sunk, so the comparison is against zero rather than against your usual cost per lead.
Should we contact everyone?
No. Contacts who never engaged and have no valid consent basis should be suppressed rather than messaged. Contacting people who do not want to hear from you damages deliverability for the ones who do, and creates exposure that outweighs any marginal conversion.

Follow-up that continues after everyone else has stopped
AI lead follow-up runs a multi-touch sequence across SMS, email, WhatsApp and voice after someone enquires. Language models personalise messages using what is known about the lead, an agent can call when messages go unanswered, and the entire sequence exits immediately when the lead replies, books or opts out.
Everything GoHighLevel can run without you
GoHighLevel can automate lead capture from forms, calls, ads and chat; contact creation and pipeline movement; SMS, email and WhatsApp follow-up sequences; appointment booking, confirmation and reminders; missed-call text-back; review requests; reactivation campaigns; internal notifications; and reporting.
Marketing automation that behaves like a person paying attention
Marketing automation delivers campaigns and content triggered by customer behaviour and segment rather than by a fixed calendar. It covers lifecycle sequences, segmentation, behavioural triggers, reactivation campaigns and the routing of engaged contacts to sales at the right moment.
AI automation that does a specific job, not a demo
AI automation applies language models and voice agents to specific business tasks — answering calls, qualifying leads, handling routine questions, drafting replies and routing work. It differs from traditional automation in handling unstructured input such as speech and free text, rather than only responding to structured triggers.
AI applied to lead capture, honestly scoped
AI improves lead generation by capturing enquiries across voice, chat and messaging at any hour, qualifying them conversationally rather than through long forms, enriching records with what was said, and routing by value — so more of the demand that already exists is captured and reaches the right person.
